  • Thanks to the contribution from TM Real Estate Group, there will be help to lessen the damage and to help those affected by the cold front in the Vega Baja area.
  • The agreement was signed today at the Red Cross’ Regional Office in Alicante.

TM Real Estate Group is showing its solidarity and support for those affected by the high-level isolated depression by contributing €50,000 to the Spanish Red Cross to lessen the damage caused to those affected across the 27 towns that have suffered the consequences of the floods.

The company, which is closely linked to the Vega Baja area where it is originally from, adds this contribution to the  temporary assignment of 50 properties for people that ended up homeless as a result of the rainfall.

The agreement was signed today at the Red Cross’ regional office in Alicante at a gathering where the president of TM Real Estate Group, Ángeles Serna, presented the contribution to the regional president of the Red Cross, Francisco Galvañ.

In the words of Ángeles Serna, “for us it’s essential to contribute to well-being and to provide value to the society where we undertake our activity, more so during catastrophic situations like those caused after the last floods, that’s why we hope that this collaboration with the Red Cross will help to restore the personal and living situations of so many affected families”. The president thanked the Red Cross for the work it is doing by way of its emergency plan.

For his part, the regional president of the organisation, Francisco Galvañ emphasised his “thanks to the TM Real Estate Group for having entrusted the Red Cross to be the vehicle and means through which their solidarity was shown with the people and families affected by this natural catastrophe”. Galvañ also stated that “the Red Cross’ priority is focused on detecting and analysing the most immediate needs of the affected families, as well as supporting employment retraining projects and restoring livelihoods, and so this charitable contribution will help us to reach more people and more homes”.

This initiative reaffirms the support and commitment from TM with the region and its contribution to the development of areas where it is present and it is framed within its strong dedication to Corporate Responsibility in which the group has taken significant steps in the last year by joining the Global Compact and the commitment with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Within the emergency plan for the Vega Baja area, which was activated after the floods, the Red Cross is working in the post-emergency and rebalancing stage with the aim of supporting those affected, in cooperation with the councils in the different towns in direct contact with the local social services and the Red Cross’ Local Assemblies in each place.
