The aim of this collaboration is to provide financial and human aid for a project that will improve the living conditions of 769 families from the most vulnerable communities in the village of Korrakodu, India. This cooperation is yet another example of the Alicante-based company’s commitment to its stakeholders through its Corporate Responsibility actions.

Torrevieja, 28 November 2022 TM Real Estate Group, a leading company in the residential tourism sector in Alicante, specialising in the construction and development of second homes along the Mediterranean and Caribbean coast, is collaborating with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, a non-profit organisation operating in southern India, to begin construction on a water purification plant in the Uravakonda area of rural India.

The signing ceremony, which took place at the TM headquarters, was attended by Cristina Noguera Torrecillas, Deputy Delegate of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation’s Alicante and Murcia Region Delegation, and Ángeles Serna Lorente, President of TM Real Estate Group.

The aim of this collaboration is to provide financial and human aid for a project to improve the living conditions of 769 families from the most vulnerable communities that are part of the Rural Development Trust in the village of Korrakodu, India. This project contributes to Sustainable Development Goals 6 (water and sanitation) and 10 (reduced inequalities).

The water treatment plant gives continuity to the solidarity projects that the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and TM are carrying out in the area, since it is located just 80 kilometers from the village with 71 houses that both entities built called “José Luis Serna Village” and in which a total of 387 people currently inhabit it (117 women, 138 men and 132 girls and boys).

In the words of Ángeles Serna, President of TM Real Estate Group: “TM is committed to the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation is a great ally to develop projects that will improve the lives of people in India who are in a vulnerable situation and offer them an opportunity for the future, starting from something as basic as providing access to drinking water”.

Meanwhile, Cristina Noguera Torrecillas, Deputy Delegate of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation’s Alicante and Murcia Region Delegation, stated: “Sustainable development is now central to addressing the great global challenges and fostering a new model of sustainable growth. Thanks to the commitment of companies like TM Real Estate Group, we will have a water treatment plant that will provide access to drinking water for 769 families in the village of Korrakodu, India. We need more partnerships like the one we are beginning today for the realistic achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.”
