The company once again presents its Corporate Responsibility Report, on this occasion audited by Deloitte, and consolidates its position as a leading company in the responsible residential tourism sector, committing itself to generating economic, social and environmental value for its stakeholders and the communities in which it operates. The entity continues to develop its Employee Value Plan for its workforce of 1,551 professionals of 37 different nationalities.

 

Torrevieja, 4th August 2022 This week, TM Real Estate Group, a leading Alicante-based company in the residential tourism sector, specialising in the construction and development of second homes along the Mediterranean and Caribbean coast, presented its consolidated Corporate Responsibility Report for the previous year, audited by Deloitte, which reflects the efforts it has made to consolidate its position as a leading company in the responsible residential tourism sector for yet another year.

 

The corporate cash flow generated by the company and its distribution among its stakeholders (shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers and society) came to 260.4 million euros in 2021. These figures are proof of TM’s commitment to generating economic, social and environmental value for its stakeholders and the communities in which it operates through the management of a responsible business model.

 

The Alicante-based company continues to develop its Employee Value Plan, which includes various actions aimed at fostering talent, professional development and the personal and economic well-being of its team, comprising 1,551 professionals of 37 different nationalities, 282 in Spain and 1,269 in Mexico.

 

Suppliers are strategic allies for TM Real Estate Group, which is committed to collaboration and long-term relationships with companies aligned with its values and the principles set out in its Code of Ethics, and promotes the contracting of collaborating companies in the areas in which it operates in order to foster the generation of wealth and local employment. In this regard, TM worked with 2,758 suppliers in Mexico and Spain, 76% of which were local suppliers, that is, operating in the territory in which the company’s projects are located.

 

Some of the actions implemented to improve the good governance model during 2021 include the strengthening of its corporate policies, the continuous review of the risk management system, the updating of the regulations of the Board of Directors and the Family Council, training in sustainability, the implementation of self-assessment in the governing bodies and the development of the Respect for Human Rights Policy. Ángeles Serna, the company’s president, stated that governance is key to building trusting relationships and establishing alliances. The Group works with various organisations and business associations in order to build consensus that contributes to sustainable development.

 

Social Action and Environment

Throughout 2021, TM further strengthened its commitment to society by developing various initiatives, programmes and projects worth €173,000 in the areas in which it operates, both in Spain and Mexico, with a total of more than 30 actions benefiting more than 1,800 people. Furthermore, the company’s total tax contribution amounted to 21.2 million euros.

 

The company is aware of the need to conserve and protect the environment, and in line with this, has established a series of commitments in its Code of Ethics, such as minimising waste, promoting energy saving, contributing to the conservation of natural resources in areas of ecological, scenic or cultural interest, and establishing and promoting best practices.

 

In parallel, the Group is a signatory of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, and, as part of its commitment to the 2030 Agenda, it is developing various projects to address environmental, social and good governance impacts, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially those linked to sustainable construction and climate action, people and the creation of shared social value. These initiatives and projects mainly contribute to nine SDGs: 1, 4, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 17.
