TM Real Estate Group signed the Diversity Charter today at an event organised by the Diversity Foundation held in the Madrid offices of the European Commission.

The Diversity Foundation was created to support the introduction of diversity and anti-discrimination policies in Spain by implementing the Diversity Charter: a project backed by the European Commission and the Ministry of Equality, which is a result of the European Union directive, approved in 2000, on equality and non-discrimination.

The Diversity Charter is a declaration that companies and institutions from the same country sign voluntarily to reaffirm and display their commitment to the fundamental principles of equality, the right of all persons to inclusion regardless of their background or circumstances in work and society, the recognition of the benefits of cultural, demographic, and social diversity in their organisation, the implementation of concrete policies to promote a workplace free from prejudice in employment, training, and promotion, and the promotion of policies which do not discriminate against disadvantaged groups.

More than 900 organisations have signed the Charter in Spain, whilst more than 5,000 organisations throughout Europe have pledged their commitment to encouraging diversity.

In signing the Charter, at TM we want to strengthen our commitment to equal opportunities in our CSR policy.

In the words of Ángeles Serna, our Chair, “diversity is an essential part of the company which strengthens the team and is a clear source of opportunities which helps companies to be more competitive”.

Pertinently, the TM team is noticeable for including employees from 20 different countries (Spain, Russia, Germany, France, England, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Belgium, Sweden, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Denmark, Poland, Switzerland, Holland, Argentina, Uruguay, and Mexico).
