Press Room TM invests 1.8 Million Euros to create 51,000 m2 of coastal parks & gardens at San Juan de los Terreros, Costa Almeria

Architect Juan Amores Romero and TM Real Estate Group have just unveiled their plans to create a large coastal park and themed gardens at Mar de Pulpi, in San Juan de los Terreros.

The plans reveal a coastal park running along the front of Mar de Pulpi, a beach front development, and is divided into various themed gardens including a Japanese Yen Garden; English Garden; Cactus Garden; Arabic Water Garden; fountain and it´s star attraction, a garden maze.

The gardens represent an important investment for the company in the local area, as well as becoming one of the key talking points of the development as a whole. Planting and construction of the gardens are due to finish by the end of July 2011, with nature then being charged with allowing the plants to grow and the gardens take form over time.

According to Manuel Fernández-Figares, TM Construction Director, the coastal park representsa significant effort by TM Real Estate Group to create a beautiful public area for all to enjoy, not just the residents of our Mar de Pulpi development,” before going on to say how the creation of the gardens and parkswill create a new tourist destination, located next to the future seafront promenade to be developed by the Spanish Coastal Ministry, transforming San Juan de los Terreros in a place much more desirable and attractive to live in or visit.

The project designer, architect Juan Amores Romero, believes that he has achieveda garden design which has succeeded in creating a series of themed areas which are not only great to stroll through but also to enjoy the different surroundings of plants and trees, forming a journey which is eminently didactic.”

He went on to say thatthe design includes two distinct elements which are brought together and complement one another. The first of these elements is a pedestrian promenade and path next to the site of the future seafront promenade, with a path that runs the length of the plot. The second and most striking element is the creation of distinctive themed areas along the edges of the main path, tucked away outside your line of sight so that it creates the impression that you are discovering each area for the first time, with small openings along the path to give you both access and a hint that these areas exist.”

The coastal park and gardens will cover around 51,000 m2 with a length of 1.5 km and will be completed in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for completion in June of this year, with the landscaping and planting of 23,189 m2.

As mentioned earlier, the new coastal park will feature various unique areas and themed gardens which will not only form a place for enjoyment, for all those who want to visit Mar de Pulpi, but also an ideal place for school trips or the study of nature, given that the gardens will feature numerous plant species. These species will also be clearly labelled, with information on each plants origins, characteristics and other useful information helpful in its recognition and study.
