Alicante international airport broadens its horizons

El Altet will better serve holidaymakers and businesses
El Altet airport is a great link between TM developments and an array of European and national destinations, serving a great number of TM’s customers. It is soon to enjoy a renovation and expansion project, which will significantly improve the services it provides. Among the measures to be undertaken is the extension of the runway to 3,400 metres to accommodate larger freight aircrafts; a new five-storey terminal building with two boarding bays at two different heights; the extension of the airplane parking lot and, among others, the installation of 14 new airbridges and a new cargo terminal.
In addition, the construction of a railway terminal within the airport installations is also planned. This will connect to the future AVE (High Speed Train) stations in Alicante and Elche. Work will be carried out over the next 15 years.
