The British Consulate in Alicante launch new advice service for worried Brits buying in Spain 

In face of increasing numbers of problems relating to planning laws and whether a house is legal (or not) in Spain, the British Consulate in Alicante are launching a new service designed to ease the fears of an alarming number of British clients worried that if they buy a property today, it will be bulldozed tomorrow.

From April an expert will be available to provide advice and other information relating to urban planning, education, health care or other services in an attempt to curb the increasing number of problems currently being suffered by British citizens living in the province, problems such as loss of electricity or water supplies; unfinished or illegal construction projects or lack of adequate health services.  For more details on this new service, please see the full article.

In face of the current situation, TM Real Estate Group have also taken steps to reassure clients that they will avoid such problems if buying a property from them.  You can freely download both construction permits and “Nota Simple” or land registry documents for each project.  We have also recently launched our TM Client Portal, a private “mini-web” where each TM Client can view all documents and information relating to their property, including view legal documents or keep track of problems reported on their property.
